Jewelry store owner arrested after firing shots at mall

Officials say the man chased a thief into the mall parking lot and fired five shots from a handgun.

WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Police have arrested the man who fired shots at the Wyoming Valley Mall in Wilkes-Barre Township on Friday.

Michael Caruso operates the Devans Jewelry Store, where a theft took place.

Officials say Caruso chased the thief into the mall parking lot and fired five shots from a handgun.  

He struck one vehicle, but nobody was hurt.

Caruso faces reckless endangerment and weapons charges.

And now, police are asking for the public's help in identifying the thief.

Wilkes-barre Township police asks anyone who may have footage of the incident to contact them at (570) 208-4635.
