Inclusive art classroom unveiled in Luzerne County

A ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil a new, inclusive art classroom for adults with intellectual disabilities was held at the Saint Joseph's Center in Wilkes-Barre.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A new inclusive art classroom is ready to welcome creatives in Luzerne County

Leadership Northeast cut the ribbon on its 'Art with a Heart' project on Thursday at Saint Joseph's Center along Laird Street in Wilkes-Barre.

"They came together and helped us remodel and reconfigured and get a lot of in-kind donations so the clients have more access to art, and they are able to express themselves using different models and different things like that," said Katie Martin, program coordinator of Adult Day program.

The space will be used for different art classes for adults with intellectual disabilities.
