LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — Santa's helpers were hard at work in Luzerne County on Saturday.
People had the chance to take a run around the track at Mohegan Pennsylvania for the inaugural Santa Dash.
There, people dressed up in Christmas costumes and took a mad dash to the finish line.
To participate, all you had to do was donate an unwrapped toy to benefit the Greater Pittston Santa Squad.
The group fills Christmas wish lists and donates toys for under the tree to nearly 1,500 kids in need throughout the area.
"It's amazing; it's a game-changer for us. Helping 1,500 kids doesn't happen easily. It's just huge for us, game-changer," said Tony Marranca, President of the Greater Pittston Santa Squad.
The Santa Squad also received a special gift of their own this holiday.
Mohegan Pennsylvania presented the organization with a $10,000 check to help the Santa Squad in their mission.
