PITTSTON, Pa. — The inaugural Disability Pride Festival took place in Luzerne County on Saturday.
Folks in downtown Pittston enjoyed live music and food while checking out resource booths from local organizations.
Organizers say the event celebrates the strength of the disability community in the region.
"Disability pride events are so important. It's about celebrating the disability community all of our strengths and weakness and how to interject into society. It's a space where it's open to the entire community because we start with access so that everybody is included," said Vicki Landers, founder and executive director of Disability Pride of PA.
The Disability Pride Festival wrapped up around 4 p.m. in Luzerne County.
