LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — Nearly two weeks after Pennsylvania's Primary Election, there is still no winner in the race for the Republican nomination in the 117th State House district, and now, there are some legal troubles.
A hearing was held inside the Luzerne County Bureau of Elections on Monday regarding 111 mail-in ballots.
Republican challenger Jamie Walsh says those ballots should not be counted because the years were missing on the outer envelope.
Lawyers for the election bureau disagree with Walsh.
Six of these votes affect the 117th race and could mean either Walsh or incumbent Mike Cabell takes the lead.
Luzerne County judges say they will rule on the matter.
