HAZLETON -- Hazleton Police Chief Frank DeAndrea will soon be out of a job.
Mayor-elect Jeff Cusat tells Newswatch 16 he wants to "go in a different direction" when he takes office in January.
Cusat said Hazleton City Council eliminated the full-time chief's job in the city's new budget.
DeAndrea's last day with the department is Friday. He wouldn't comment on the situation.
After DeAndrea leaves, there will be an officer-in-charge in Hazleton. The city will then look for a part-time chief until there is money for a full-time one.
