HAZLETON, Pa. — The Hazleton Integration Project (HIP Corporation United) is a group made up of students from the greater Hazleton area.
Since May of last year, HIP has provided more than 269,000 meals to Hazleton residents.
"An important part of assisting people in need is understanding the community in which we serve. We provide meals that are culturally appropriate and pleasing, as well as providing opportunities for interaction that build and strengthen the community in which we live," said Debbie Mills, project manager.
Hazleton native and former professional baseball manager Joe Maddon was on hand for the open house, which included a tour of the newly upgraded hip facility, including Luzerne County's first and only 'Fresh Food Farmacy.'
