KINGSTON, Pa. — The Wyoming Valley Habitat for Humanity hosted its inaugural Halloween 5K Run/1 mile Walk/Kids Fun Run in Luzerne County on Saturday.
The run began at The Atrium in Kingston and featured participants of all ages.
The money raised will support Wyoming Valley Habitat for Humanity in its mission to build simple, decent homes to sell to families in need.
“Fundraisers like this have helped to support building material costs, everything that has gone up in the last few years and we're very happy to be able to raise funds from the community at a wonderful event like this," said Karen Evans Kaufer from Wyoming Valley Habitat for Humanity.
Awards were given out to the top finishers in each age range.
Children were treated to Halloween candy after the race.
