LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — A school in Luzerne County was locked down on Wednesday after a gun was found on a student.
Officials say all students at the Wilkes-Barre Area CTC must go through security when entering the school, and during that screening, a gun was found in a student's backpack.
The weapon and the juvenile student were taken into custody.
According to the Luzerne County District Attorney's office, the unnamed juvenile faces firearms and public safety violations.
The school in Plains Township went into lockdown before students were dismissed.
No injuries were reported.
