LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — Many shoppers were picking up the last-minute necessities to cook their Christmas Eve and Christmas Day meals.
Some were looking for other items, though, to help make their travel a little more joyful.
"Well, I wanted to get my Grandma a plant and maybe some snacks for the road because it's a little bit of a drive, but we're going to be celebrating Christmas with the family this year, so it's gonna be great," said Brett Withjack, Luzerne.
Gerrity's closed a little early for the holiday at 5 p.m.
Specialty shops, like Fetch's Kielbassi Shop Meat Market in Wyoming, were also open on Sunday but was not as busy as the owner says it was on Saturday; that was the shop's busiest day of the year, but there were still plenty of hams and rings of kielbasa available for people to get ahead of the holiday.
The shop has been a fixture of this community since 1922 in Luzerne County.
