WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — Saturday night marked the 8th annual gala for the Luzerne County Child Advocacy Center.
The center serves victims of physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, drug endangerment, human trafficking and other crimes. Law enforcement works with the center as it provides a comforting atmosphere where children undergo forensic interviews and medical examinations following the discovery of a crime.
The theme for this year's gala was "Winter Wonderland" and 175 people attended the wintry-themed event at the Westmoreland Club in Wilkes-Barre.
Newswatch 16's Chelsea Strub emceed the event.
The advocacy center provides services to approximately 500 abused children each year.
