A key player in the so-called "Kids for Cash" scandal in Luzerne County has been transferred.
Former Luzerne County Judge Mark Ciavarella had been at a federal correctional institution in Illinois since September 2011.
According to the US Bureau of Prisons inmate locator, Ciavarella is now at the Federal Transfer Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Ciavarella, along former Judge Michael Conahan, were accused of taking $2.6 million from the operators of a juvenile detention facility near Pittston to keep it in operation and keep juvenile defendants filling the beds there.
Ciavarella was found guilty on charges including racketeering and money laundering in 2011 and was sentenced to 28 years in prison.
