HAZLETON, Pa. — A woman is dead after flames tore through a home in Luzerne County on Saturday.

Crews were called to the home along the 700 block of North Locust Street in Hazleton around 3:45 p.m.

Officials say an oxygen tank may have exploded during the fire, causing heavy damage, "We initially got heavy fire showing in with the explosion, which we appear thins look like to be an oxygen type tank in that front room exploded that’s what caused even more of a heavy fire coming out of the residence again, crews did a fantastic job you know fast effective knockdown, rescue," said Hazleton Fire Chief Donald Leshko.

The deadly blaze remains under investigation in Luzerne County.
