Fire damages home in Pittston

Flames broke out around 1:30 p.m. Saturday along Butler Street in the city.

PITTSTON, Pa. — Flames damaged a home in Luzerne County on Saturday.

Crews were called to a home along Butler Street in the city around 1:30 p.m.

"Once it got into the attic, it traveled the ridgeline, which made it a very difficult fire to fight. But after several alarms we got guys in there and started to make some headway," said Chief Frank Roman, Pittston Fire Department.

No one was injured.

Officials are still investigating the cause of the fire but say it is not considered suspicious.
