FORTY FORT, Pa. — "There's really a lot to come see," said manager Trudi Kopec at Edward's Garden Center in Forty Fort.

The children's Fall play area is now open, some of which is brand new this year.

"We have a corn crib, a maze. We have kind of a scary cemetery set up that we started this year, ball pits, slides," added Kopec.

While other displays and activities are seasonal favorites and have returned this year. But the children's play area is about more than the spooks or the fun. It's also about raising money for a cause near and dear to the heart of the folks behind the display.

"It's going to Breakthrough Type One this year. It's for type one diabetes. My husband and my nephew, Nolan, both have type one. So we're just hoping to raise some money. Last year, we donated $9,000, so we're hoping to beat it this year," explained Kopec.

The $9 entry fee goes to the cause, but if you just are stopping by to shop, you can also support by guessing the weight of a giant pumpkin.

Each guess is $1 and also goes to Edward's Garden Center's diabetes fundraiser.

Workers will pick the closest guess on Halloween, and the winner will receive a $100 gift card.
