SHICKSHINNY — State police and the Luzerne County district attorney’s office are investigating claims that evidence is missing from the police evidence locker in Shickshinny.
Troopers were there Thursday searching that evidence locker and doing inventory on everything inside.
State police say someone from the Luzerne County district attorney’s office was here Wednesday to pick up evidence for a drug case that is set to go to trial soon.
Investigators say at least one file of evidence is missing.
The mayor tells us that the Shickshinny police department has not been active since February.
The mayor believes there are only three borough officials that have keys to the building.
The D.A.’s office would not comment on the missing file but state police say they and the D.A.’s office are investigating what happened to that file.
