DUPONT, Pa. — The weather was perfect for a celebration of Polish heritage in Luzerne County.
There was no shortage of polka music or potato pancakes at the 48th annual Holy Mothers of Sorrows Dozynki Festival in Dupont.
The harvest festival fundraiser for the church included plenty of food, basket raffles, games, and community art projects and drew volunteers like Gianna Conforti of Old Forge back from college for the weekend to help out, "I'm here every year. I've been here every year since I was little, so it's really important to support the church and be here to help out," she said.
Paczki and other baked goods were also available for sale to benefit the church in Luzerne County.
