LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — A fire company in Luzerne County is helping a family who lost everything.
Last week, a family in the Back Mountain lost most of their belongings, as well as two dogs and a cat, when their house caught on fire.
The Back Mountain Regional Fire Company wanted to do something to help and held a donation drive.
Organizers say they were humbled by how many people came out to donate and support the cause.
"It was really impressive when we first started; it was nonstop, people coming in with trunk loads of everything, we have a trailer here, we've pretty much filled it, it's amazing how much people wanted to help out," said Lieutenant Pat Gelso, Back Mountain Regional Fire Company.
Donations included diapers, clothing, baby formula, and even a crib.
The Back Mountain Fire Regional Fire Company loaded up a small trailer to take to the family.
