DURYEA, Pa. — A night out helped support first responders in part of Luzerne County.
A portion of dinner and drink sales at McAlpine Street Pub & Pizza in Duryea on Saturday went toward the Avoca Fire Department.
Organizers say events like these show how much the community comes together and supports one another.
"You'll always see people come out to just do what they can to help us out, whether it's donations of water, donations of funds, or just supporting us at events like this. This community really is amazing. We could always use help, and it's struggling more and more every day, so volunteers are the backbone of this area, and we really appreciate your help," said Firefighter Scott Corti, Avoca Fire Department.
There was also a raffle, 50/50, and live music at the event in Luzerne County.
