UPDATE: Police say no injuries after shots-fired call in Wilkes-Barre Township

Police at the scene told Newswatch 16 there is no danger to the public.

WILKES-BARRE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — UPDATE:

Wilkes Barre Township Police confirmed to Newswatch 16 that they were called out to the Wilkes-Barre Township Marketplace around 9:15pm Thursday for a report of shots fired in the area. 

Police say there were no injuries reported, and there is no danger to the public. 

Police are questioning people in relation to this shots-fired call, but they would not clarify if these people are considered witnesses or suspects.

Police were called to the parking lot of the Wilkes-Barre Township Marketplace after 9pm on Thursday. 

Crime scene tape was cordoning off a section of the parking lot. It was not immediately clear what the nature of the call was. 

Newswatch 16 has a crew on the scene and is working to learn more information.
