LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — There was police activity for a death investigation in Pittston on Thursday afternoon.

Newswatch 16 crew arrived at the scene and saw officials take one body out of the home.

The Luzerne County District Attorney's office, state police, and city police were all on the scene for hours. Neighbors tell Newswatch 16 the house had frequent visitors.

"I do know there was a lot of action going on there, like from that stop sign looking over there. A lot of cars would be flashing their lights and just running for a very long time in front of there. And other neighbors would talk that there was action," said Theresa Murnock of Pittston.

Chief Shumosic says there is an autopsy scheduled for Friday. The investigation is still in the early stages.

This is a developing story; it will be updated when new details are available.
