PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP -- It took crews on the ground and in the air to battle a brush fire Sunday afternoon in Luzerne County.
Fire officials say the flames first sparked around 2 p.m. in a shed in Plymouth Township.
Crews put out that fire, but they could not prevent the flames from spreading to brush on a mountain along Route 11 near Nanticoke.
The Department of Forestry used planes to drop water on the fire. Crews from several fire departments battled the flames from the ground.
The Plymouth Township fire chief said the wind and the rough terrain made it difficult to put out that brush fire.
