WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — The Back Mountain Police Association and Big Brothers and Big Sisters of The Bridge of Luzerne County held a coat distribution at Saint Aloysius Church in Wilkes-Barre.
Kids could pick out coats and other accessories, as well as holiday stockings.
Officers say it's great to be able to interact with children in a more positive setting.
“Being police officers, we sometimes interact with children in very difficult times. It's nice to be able to see them and have them see us as people trying to help them instead of just a uniform at a time when they're having a bad day," said Mike Huntzinger, President of the Back Mountain Police Association.
Santa Claus himself even stopped by the coat distribution in Luzerne County.
