WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A ceremony honored fallen police officers on Friday morning in Luzerne County.
The Wilkes-Barre City Police Department hosted a memorial service Friday morning in front of police headquarters along North Washington Street.
For National Police Week, the department honors all officers, past and present, who died in the last year.
"Today we joined the men and women of the Wilkes-Barre Police Department, both past and present, to pay tribute to fallen officers, which include two of our own that we lost from a retired rank this past year," said Joseph Coffay, Wilkes Barre Police Chief.
National Police Week continues through Saturday.
