LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — Skywatchers everywhere were excited for Saturday's solar eclipse.
Penn State Wilkes-Barre's Friedman Observatory in Luzerne County held an event to celebrate.
Since it was rainy and cloudy, we couldn't see much of the eclipse in our area, but folks could still watch NASA's live footage of the event.
"It's extremely exciting. So this is actually really cool that we've got two coming up within a year. We got this one in October and another one in April. And that's pretty rare in and of itself in the United States, and then a long time before we get another chance. So this is the opportunity to see it. And again in April," said Violet Mager, Associate Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Penn State Wilkes-Barre.
The eclipse event also included children's crafts and activities in Luzerne County.
