FORTY FORT, Pa. — Looking to bury the hatchet? We have just the place.
"It's for women, it's for children, families, men. If you've done it before, great if you haven't done it before, it's fun, it's invigorating, you feel accomplished, you feel powerful," said Denise Ogurkis, Owner/Founder of The Hatchet Factory.
The Hatchet Factory on Welles Street, in Forty Fort, allows folks to hurl hatchets.
"We make sure we show people how to throw safely, no trick shots, nothing crazy," said Ogurkis.
This was the first-ever axe-throwing venue in Northeastern Pennsylvania when it opened in 2019. Since then, it has grown into a place for company team-building events, private parties, and even momentous occasions.
"We've had two weddings here, I've had wedding rehearsals, I've had bachelor, bachelorette, birthday parties. I've had axe your ex night, where people have put pictures of their exes on the board," added Ogurkis.
And if you're fresh to the game, this hatchet job is not as easy as it looks there's a technique to it.
"If you don't know how to do it, we're going to show you, we're going to show you how to do it," added Ogurkis.
Whether you're a winner or have an axe-to-grind. There's one thing you should know.
"Everybody that comes in has an 'axe-ellent' time, sometimes they're afraid to start, but in the end, everybody is always happy," said Ogurkis.
The Hatchet Factory in Forty Fort is B-Y-O-B and open Thursday through Sunday.
