FORTY FORT, Pa. — Volunteers in Luzerne County spent their Saturday building beds for children in need.
Dozens of people came out to Forty Fort to help the Luzerne County chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace. The nonprofit's mission is to make sure no children ever have to sleep on the floor.
The goal was to build 100 beds.
"Bedlessness is a real thing. It's bittersweet for us and we are happy to help. it's just sad that there are so many requests," said Denise Ogurkis, the president of the Luzerne County chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
Once the beds are built, the nonprofit delivers the beds to families all across Luzerne County.
