An unidentified man is in the hospital after authorities said he was the target of a beating involving a baseball bat during practice.
Officials said a man was attacked by another swinging a baseball bat during practice at the Jake Kislin Complex near Drifton.
The complex manager is shocked.
"They have a nice league. They run it pretty well. Somehow it got out of hand," said complex manager Pete Andrasko.
Some say the baseball attack was pretty vicious.
"There were kids on the fields throwing rocks on one of the fields and apparently a parent from Allentown from what I got from a coach from that team, they were his kids from Allentown. He didn't like them telling them to get off of the field and one thing led to another and the fight started," Andrasko added.
One of the baseball fields was used as a helicopter pad. The injured man was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital after the brutal attack.
"It's sad, it's really sad what can go on for just a practice not even a game, it's just sad," said neighbor Mary Fendrick. She did not see the attack but did hear it. "A lot of screaming and yelling a lot of it was in. I didn't know what was going on, just loud a lot of screaming."
State police are investigating. There is no word if the baseball bat attacker has been identified.
