LUZERNE COUNTY, Pa. — It was an artsy affair in Luzerne County.
The Harveys Lake Beach Association Annual Arts Festival and Open House kicked off Sunday morning at Sunset Beach.
The event included swimming, entertainment vendors, food, and raffles.
Organizers say they want the public to be able to enjoy the beach.
"We always say keep the dream alive. Our parents started the beach. As I said, they saw what was happening out here. So we wanted to, for people that really lived off the road, to be able to get into the lake, have access. And now we've opened it up anywhere. There's no geographical; you can just join. We're trying to keep as much access to the public as possible," said Sharon Brit Hoch, Sunset Beach board member.
Proceeds from the event will go toward the upkeep of the beach in Luzerne County.
