NANTICOKE, Pa. — A man has been arrested for the death of a woman in Luzerne County last year.
According to state police, Kawan Scarborough, 39, has been charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault in the death of Lastarr Williams.
Williams, 27, was found dead in a home in the 200 block of West Church Street in Nanticoke on May 27, 2023. An autopsy found that she had been beaten to death.
Investigators said Scarborough was in a relationship with Williams, and they lived together at a previous address in Luzerne County.
Bail for Scarborough was denied, and he is locked up in the Luzerne County Prison. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on June 21.
The death was investigated by Nanticoke police, along with Pennsylvania State Police Troop P Criminal Investigation Unit and the Troop P Major Case Team.
