Annual "Walk to End" epilepsy in Wilkes-Barre

The funds for the walk will help support epilepsy educational and health programs, support services, and the new MPL Epilepsy Community and Resource Center.

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — The Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania held its annual "Walk to End Epilepsy" at Kirby Park on Saturday morning.

After the walk around the city park, participants of all ages enjoyed entertainment.

Event organizers hope this walk brings more awareness to epilepsy.

Mary Loughlin, with the Epilepsy Foundation of Eastern Pennsylvania, spoke on the importance of the walk, "It shows that everybody knows about epilepsy or they're trying to learn about it. Some of them are new to it. Some of them are older than it, and it's like a family. Everybody gets together just to support our warriors because we know what they go through and what the families go through."

The funds raised for this walk-in Wilkes-Barre will support epilepsy educational and health programs, support services, and the new MPL Epilepsy Community and Resource Center on Wyoming Avenue in Luzerne County.
