SHICKSHINNY, Pa. — Brady Sutliff has always loved music.
"I've been playing since I was about 14, when I stole my uncle's guitar, and I don't think I ever gave it back to him."
The Shickshinny native also loves his hometown so much that he decided his band, also named Sutliff, would create a song dedicated to the Five Mountain region. So, he let the creativity flow just like the Susquehanna River.
"I just wanted a song for Shickshinny because I love it here," Sutliff said. "It's gorgeous."
The music video by Ark Productions was also directed by Ryan Sotelo of Shickshinny. Sutliff made sure to capture the history of Shickshinny's past with help from the historical association. Photos in the video go back generations, something Sutliff says everyone in Shickshinny can relate to.
"As far as the history goes, my family has been here close to 70, 80 years. And a lot of families have lived here for that long too, a lot of farmers and a lot of history in coal mining."
Sutliff hopes his song strikes a chord with other people who call Shickshinny home.
"I think it will inspire people to move back or maybe just visit an old friend in this old town and just hoot and holler on the mountain."
