WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A woman in Wilkes-Barre is expected to face charges for abandonment and animal cruelty after leaving her dog zip-tied in a Walmart in Wilkes-Barre Township Marketplace.
According to the Wilkes-Barre Township Police Department, a witness spotted a small male German Shepard about three to five months old crying and shivering from the rain as it was zip-tied to a bike rack at the side of Walmart.
The witness waited with the dog to see if anyone would claim it until the female came up to the witness and told them, “I don’t want that dog anymore, you can have it,” investigators stated in a post.
The individual who found the dog was willing to foster it for the time being.
The woman has been identified, and charges are pending.
