SCRANTON -- Some snow and sleet caused some slick roads throughout our area on Saturday leading to some problems for drivers.

A car slid off Mary Street in Scranton, hit a pedestrian, and then slammed into a home just after 1 p.m.

Police said the woman who was hit was taken to the hospital, but she is expected to be okay.

There is some minor damage to the home.

A neighbor saw it all happen.

"Her car and his Jeep started sliding. She was out of her car. Her car started sliding sideways and it ran her over and we witnessed the whole thing. I said, ‘Oh my God, oh my God.’ His car crashed into the house and her car stopped right there,” witness Kelly Hallock said.

The driver told police the slippery conditions caused him to lose control.

Two other crashes happened a few hours later in Scranton.

Emergency dispatchers said just after 3 p.m. a car rolled over on the North Scranton Expressway.

The car also knocked over a "bridge may be icy" sign.

And just a short distance away on the Morgan Highway, another car slid off the road and into a ditch around 3:30 p.m.

Emergency dispatchers said both of those crashes were weather related and no one was seriously hurt in either wreck.
