Wayne County man completes annual bike ride for Alzheimer's awareness

Kevin Lockwood finished his 6th annual HammerALZ bike ride Saturday in Moscow.

MOSCOW, Pa. — A Wayne County man wrapped up a bike ride that spanned two states for Alzheimer's disease.

This is the sixth year for the HammerALZ Ride. Kevin Lockwood of Hamlin rides in honor of his mother, who he lost to Alzheimer's.

This year, he started the ride in Morristown, New Jersey, and finished in Moscow Saturday afternoon.

Lockwood says the more money and awareness raised, the better off everyone will be.

"There's a lot happening now with regard to medicine that is helping to treat Alzheimer's, and the more we fundraise, the more we're aware of it, the better off we're gonna be for our future," said Kevin Lockwood, HammerALZ.

Lockwood and his team have raised more than $70,000 for Alzheimer's research over the years.
