UPDATE: Water service in the Simpson area was restored around 11 a.m. Wednesday, according to Pennsylvania American Water.
SIMPSON, Pa. -- A ruptured water main is affecting customers and drivers in Lackawanna County.
The 12-inch main broke around 4 p.m. Tuesday near Gentex Corporation on Main Street in Simpson.
About 100 homes and businesses are affected, according to Pennsylvania American Water.
Crews worked on the ruptured water main throughout the night installing a new valve and hope to complete repairs by Wednesday afternoon.
