Warm weather perfect for walking

Plenty of people took advantage of the warmer temps by using the trail around Lake Scranton for some exercise.

SCRANTON, Pa. — As the sun poked through the clouds, the trail around Lake Scranton was active with plenty of walkers on Monday. Many people who checked the forecast decided to take advantage of the warmer temps and take their workouts outside.

"Because I'm training for a race, so I thought I'd use the opportunity to get out and run," said Raymond Felins of Moscow.

"Joe Snedeker did say get out today. I did hear him this morning, so we took advantage of the day," said Amy Miller of Pittston.

Exercise may be good for your body, but these walkers say the warmth and some Vitamin D are good for the soul.

"Much better than sitting in the house, much better than when it's raining. It brightens your spirits," said Kathy Bolinski of South Abington Township.

"Seasonal depression is kind of a real thing, right? We're all pretty down, having to walk through the snow and the wind. It's not fun, so having a day like this in the middle of March really gets you motivated for the week," said Kara Miller of Pittston.

People we spoke with say while it may not be unusual for warm weather in March, they are happy to soak it all up. There's always the alternative of colder weather, and no one will be surprised if Mother Nature flips the switch.

"I think I expect it to change a little bit. We got a few nice days, and we enjoy it while it lasts," Felins said.

"I think it's just exciting for the spring season to come in. It's March so it's really starting the warm weather and hopefully no more snowstorms, so we'll be out here more," said Kylie Miller of Pittston.
