MOOSIC -- Hillary Clinton is scheduled to make a campaign stop in Scranton later on this week, a city that's shown strong support for Clinton since she has ties to the Electric City.

Newswatch 16 spoke with voters about the FBI announcement and how it might affect Clinton's upcoming visit.

Careless but not criminal: that was the FBI's determination in the Hillary Clinton email scandal.

To many voters in northeastern Pennsylvania, the recommendation means the presidential campaign can carry on as normal if you can call this campaign normal.

"That's good, that's good," said John Gindle of Moosic. "I'm hoping she becomes president, to tell you the truth. I can't see Trump being president."

No matter who they are voting for, voters we talked to in Moosic say "no charges" against Clinton won't affect their decision in November.

"I think that's probably what they were going to say," said Carol Langan of Moosic.  "I think if they were going to do anything, they would have already done it."

"I won't vote for her," said Rich Volack of Moosic.  "I won't vote at all, either or."

Hillary Clinton is considered something of a "hometown candidate" in Lackawanna County.  The former first lady has ties to Scranton.

Her supporters here felt some relief now that the investigation is finished.

"We expected it, we thought it's kind of a witch hunt on her," said James Peperno of Old Forge.  "I think Hillary is probably the most qualified person to be President of the United States with her background and I think she's a woman and they're after her."

James and Marie Peperno plan to be in attendance at the Clinton campaign event in Scranton later this week and don't expect her to bring up the FBI's investigation into her email.

"It's something, I think, that's taken away from her campaign. And I think it will satisfy people more hearing that," said Marie Peperno.

On Friday, Clinton, and Vice President Joe Biden plan to visit Riverfront Sports on West Olive Street in Scranton. Doors open at 10 a.m.
