LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — Here at Scranton High School, the judge of elections says only about 15 to 20% of voters have come in so far today.
It's the second year that residents from eight different sections of the city have come to Scranton High School to cast their votes.
The Department of Elections says the change was made to accommodate those with accessibility issues.
For mail-in ballots, 12,528 of the more than 15,000 requested ballots sent out have been returned. Election officials say more than 10,000 of those were for Democratic voters and only 2185 for Republicans.
The Director of the Lackawanna County Department of Elections expects more voters to hit the polls as the clock counts down.
Polling sites across northeastern and central Pennsylvania are open until 8 p.m.
