TAYLOR, Pa. — On Tuesday morning, the scene at Taylor Hose Company number one, as the polling place opened, was a line out the door and onto the sidewalk.

Mary Grace Armillay was the first.

"I wanted to make sure my voice is heard. I think it's very important. This election is very important, and I wanted to be the first one here."

We didn't ask people about their preferences, but it's clear some prefer Trump. Others are in the Harris camp. All thought it was important to be here, to vote, and to make a choice.

It's not uncommon to have high voter turnout in a presidential election, and for some people here, it was a new experience

19-year-old Elizabeth Kramer is voting in her first presidential election.

"We come because it's important to vote and to figure out who you want to be president," said Kramer.

Other races generate plenty of interest, including Senate and United States Representative contests.

It all adds up to people heading to this polling place early. They didn't mind the wait.

Ron Gnall, a voter, said, "It was pretty quick. It's normally just a walk. It was five minutes, and that was it."

One election worker in the third ward said more than forty people voted in the first half hour the polls were open, and she had never seen a number that high.
