Pennsylvania's adjutant general visiting veterans for the holidays

Pennsylvania's adjutant general stopped by a veterans center in Lackawanna County on Monday to wish those who served a happy holiday.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Major General Mark Schindler, who serves as Pennsylvania's Adjutant General and members of the National Guard, went from room to room at the Gino Merli Center in Scranton, visiting with veterans and talking about their time in the military.

"It means the world to me to come out here and visit the folks that live in our home here at Gino Merli.  It's just outstanding, especially this time of year when so many folks are looking forward to visiting with your families looking forward to the holidays. It's great to come out here and visit Folks who have served our country so well," said Maj. Gen. Mark Schindler, Pennsylvania Adjutant General.

State officials also talked about the programs and services available to Pennsylvania's more than 700,000 veterans.
