Victim dies after armed robbery in Scranton

Jose Tatis died Saturday after being shot in an armed robbery in Scranton last Thursday.

SCRANTON, Pa. — A man shot in an armed robbery last week in Scranton has died.

Last Thursday, police were called to the Sunoco gas station on North Main Avenue.

Police say a man walked inside, shot a man in the head, and then demanded money from a female employee before shooting her.

Jose Tatis, 26, of Hazleton, died Saturday at Geisinger Community Medical Center, according to the Lackawanna County coroner.

The suspect, Shelton Miles, 64, was picked up by police on Friday and charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and firearms violations.

There is no word on any upgraded charges against Miles.
