Vice President Kamala Harris makes last-minute stop in Scranton

Vice President Kamala Harris started Monday crisscrossing the state in Scranton, looking to drum up support in President Joe Biden's birthplace.

SCRANTON, Pa. — A quick stop in Lackawanna County on Election Day eve.

Vice President Kamala Harris started her marathon day in Pennsylvania at the top of Montage Mountain speaking to supporters inside the lodge of the ski resort.

Her message was positivity heading into Election Day. She didn't mention her opponent by name but did stump for Scranton native Senator Bob Casey, "We're all in this together; we rise and fall together. That's the strength of everyone here. That's the strength of Bob Casey; we got to get him back in the United States Senate; that's the strength of Mayor Cognetti and all that she has been doing," she said.

Lackawanna County and Scranton President Biden's hometown are a must win for Harris if she hopes to secure Pennsylvania's 19 electoral votes.

Her visit was short. The Vice President spoke for less than 10 minutes, thanking campaign volunteers for their efforts, which have ramped up in the final days before Election Day.

"We're going to keep doing this work with the optimism it requires to be strong; everyone in here knows, in the context of your family, in your life, when you believe something is possible, you put in the hard work, and hard work is good work, it's joyful work, and we get the job done. Let's get this done," said Harris.

After the event at Montage, Harris left AVP for the Lehigh Valley with campaign events scheduled in Allentown, Reading, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia.
