Two nabbed for armed robbery at Scranton laundromat

Scranton police have charged two men with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and related charges for Sunday's heist.

SCRANTON, Pa. — Two men have been arrested for an armed robbery at a laundromat in Scranton.

Scranton police have charged James McClure, 58, and Reginald Thompson, 56, with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, and related charges.

Investigators say two victims were playing games of chance around 11 a.m. Sunday inside the Butter's Bubbles Laundromat in the 600 block of Cedar Avenue when the two men entered.

Police say McClure pointed a gun at the victims, demanded money, assaulted the woman, pushed her down, and grabbed her purse. The second suspect grabbed money from the male victim. Both took off in a waiting getaway vehicle.

McClure and Thompson are locked up in Lackawanna County.
