DUNMORE, Pa. — Two people face charges after a burglary in Lackawanna County.
Officers responded to a home along August Drive in Dunmore Saturday afternoon after homeowners reported signs of a break-in and $40,000 to $50,000 worth of jewelry stolen from the home.
Days later, a jewelry shop owner in Dickson City contacted police saying he had the jewelry after two people, identified as Wilfredo Lopez, 55, and Susanne Mellen, 52, tried to sell the stolen pieces at his shop, according to court paperwork.
Lopez faces burglary, criminal conspiracy, and related charges. Mellen faces criminal conspiracy and receiving stolen property charges.
Both were arraigned on Monday and remain locked up in the Lackawanna County Prison unable to post $100,000 bail.
Their preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 3.
