Travel agent from Lackawanna County facing multiple vacation fraud charges

Eileen Miner, a travel agent for Thompson Tours, is facing multiple charges, including theft, receiving stolen property, and related charges.

LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — A travel agent from Lackawanna County faces charges after allegedly taking money from customers but never booked their trips.

Police say Eileen Miner took money from at least ten people for an Italy trip, never booked their trips, and never received their money back.

One family gave Miner over $23,000 for a trip to Italy.

Miner later told them the trip was canceled and that they would receive a refund, which never came during their investigation.

South Abington Township Police contacted Archbald Police, who were also investigating similar cases with two other families who gave Miner around $19,000 for Italy trips that never happened.

They also did not receive a refund.

Police say that Miner was at Mohegan Sun Casino, gambling earlier this month, and are attempting to figure out how money she had been gambling.

Miner is facing multiple charges, including theft, receiving stolen property, and related charges.

WNEP has done many stories about Miner organizing Penn State trips in the past.
