LACKAWANNA COUNTY, Pa. — Little Gals and Pals Day Care Center teamed up with the community to support Fruits and Roots' "stuff the Fridge" initiative meant to feed the homeless and those dealing with food insecurity.
The fridge is at the Valley Community Library in Peckville.
"We thought it would be really important to take our preschoolers from learning about service and giving back to putting it into action… So we were able to kind of bring the kids into the fold of the community and show what exactly service looks like and how they can do that in their local neighborhoods," said Mackenzie Swift Mengoni-Co-Owner, Little Gals and Pals Day Care Center.
This is the first fridge of its kind in Lackawanna County.
