Taco and Margarita Festival returns to Lackawanna County this weekend

The festival is this Saturday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Circle Drive-In in Dickson City

DICKSON CITY, Pa. — Weekends at the Circle Drive-In in Dickson City mean popcorn and movie nights, but this Saturday during the day, the Circle Drive-In will be host to the second-annual Taco & Margarita Festival.

"Bringing it back was an easy decision. People liked it the first year, we try to keep the costs down so it's more of a fun, friendly, non stressful event, the demand brought it back," Matt Kester said.

Back for the second year in a row, organizer and host of the event, Matt Kester of Matt Kester Productions, hopes it can be even bigger and better than last year. There will be more than a dozen vendors here at the Taco & Margarita Festival, and everyone will get in on the theme.

"Circle Drive-In will have their concessions here. We'll have some of your local favorites, El Rey Azteka, El Buen Amigo, Mutant Brewing, and so many more. We're also going to have some craft vendors, and some dessert vendors, and even someone selling hot sauces. There's just going to be a little bit of everything here," Kester said.

There will also be a DJ, dancing, and cornhole. And organizers say even though it is technically an event geared towards adults, you can definitely bring the whole family.

"It's important to bring everyone together and have a positive, fun afternoon. Trying to keep the costs down is why we don't charge our vendors to come here so they'll hopefully lower their prices so that everyone can enjoy it a little bit better," Kester said.

The Taco & Margarita Festival is this Saturday, July 13, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Circle Drive-In. For more information on the Taco & Margarita Festival, click here.
