Driver crashes stolen car in Scranton

The driver crashed right into the planter on Providence Square before taking off just before 4 a.m. Saturday.

SCRANTON, Pa. — There was a big mess to clean up after an early morning crash in Scranton.

A car ran off North Main Avenue and West Market Street and slammed into the big planter in the middle of the intersection.

It happened just before 4 a.m. Saturday.

Police in Scranton tell Newswatch 16 the car was stolen and the driver ran away after the impact.

There was no damage to the clock at the square.

There is no word about any injuries in that crash in Scranton.
