SCRANTON, Pa. — Runners in Scranton also got in a few miles before filling up on turkey.
Dressed as turkeys, and donning red t-shirts, families took part in the Scranton Turkey Trot at Nay Aug Park.
This is the first year for the 5-k.
Matt Mcandrew organized the race in honor of his later father, a hill section native.
"We had no idea where to get this turn out. We thought we would get about 50 people, we have about 300 people. We're gonna raise over $8000 and it's just incredible. It's truly incredible show of community support and just the betterment, continued betterment and revitalization of this park and of Scranton." said McAndrew.
All the money raised from the Scranton Turkey Trot will go towards the revitalization of Nayy Aug Park.
